Lake Pointe is a relatively new area about six miles, or 20 minutes, off Loop 360 on Bee Cave Road and about 30 minutes from downtown. The area has an appealing country setting, excellent schools and nearby amenities including a grocery store at Bee Cave Road and Highway 71 just west of Lake Pointe. Slightly further away, West Lake Hills and Barton Creek Square Mall offer additional shopping opportunities. Within this unique Austin community, residents enjoy the local park where they can play a game of tennis, take a dip in the swimming pool or watch their children play. The area is near the lake and a dock provides convenient access for boaters interested in a weekend excursion or evening sail. Today, Oak Hill is one of the fastest-growing areas in Southwest Austin, which in turn is one of the fastest growing areas in Texas. Located near Lake Pointe this beautiful community has many recreational opportunities to offer in addition to those related to water play. Enjoy a round of golf at the Barton Creek Country Club or stroll with the family through the beautiful Barton Creek greenbelt. Dick Nichols Park is another popular place and has a neighborhood pool everyone enjoys, particularly on hot summer days. Children attend Patton Elementary, Covington Middle School and Austin High School. They also have access to the Will Hampton Branch Library that was recently opened.

The neighbourhoods of Rob Roy and West Lake Hill share a common border along Loop 360. Both are upscale neighbourhoods located in a serene semi-rural environment. Homes here are large and are often situated on prestigious beautifully landscaped lots. The area is completely residential, with the nearest shopping on Bee Cave Road.  Area children attend schools in the Eanes Independent School District. Younger children attend Barton Creek Elementary, Cedar Creek Elementary, Eanes Elementary and Valley View Elementary, while older children attend West Ridge Middle School and West Lake High School.
