Hyde Park is an inner city neighborhood with a cosmopolitan feel and a mix of residents including students, families and the elderly. Students attend Lee Elementary, Kealing Junior High School and McCallum High.

Just minutes from downtown restaurants and stores, Old Enfield is an historic area with quiet streets canopied by majestic Oak trees. Pease Park and Shoal Creek are located here, and while there are no neighborhood schools, children attend nearby Casis Elementary, O. Henry Middle School and Martin Junior High School and Austin High School.

Allandale is a community-oriented neighborhood that often lobbies for local improvements including those recently made in Northwest Park. The community has much to offer families including bike routes, swimming pools, parks and baseball fields. Local schools are Gullett Elementary School, Lamar Middle School and McCallum High School.

Bryker Woods is another area with many parks including Shoal Creek, Bailey and Seiders Springs. This older neighborhood is near shopping and employment centers including the Seton Medical Center and the University of Texas. Students attend Bryker Woods Elementary, Casis Elementary, Martin Junior High School, O. Henry Middle School and Austin High School.

Nearby, Tarrytown is a charming neighborhood just 10 minutes from downtown and a few minutes by car from the 6^th Street District. Students attend Casis Elementary, O Henry Middle School and Austin High.

Travis Heights is an historic area filled with 1920s and 1930s era homes. Artists, musicians, students and professionals live here within a short distance of parks, local eateries and shops. Area children attend Travis Heights Elementary, Fulmore Middle School and Travis High School.
